Director of Sales

Alison Contreras

acontreras@northstarSL.com

Alison Contreras has been in sales her entire adult life, but found her true calling in 2017 when she joined the team at Villa de San Antonio Senior Living as the Director of Sales.

Alison grew up in a small town just north of Dallas, TX. She later moved to San Antonio to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio and obtained a degree in business management.

She loves getting to meet with prospective residents and their families to share all the amazing features of the community.  She talks about the Villa so much that her family tells her she even talks about it in her sleep!  If you walk into her office on the second floor, you will see her jewel encrusted crown and name plate displaying her true job title; “Queen of Villa de San Antonio.”

When she’s not at work, Alison enjoys spending time with her three children, Janessa, Jacob and Asher, who keep her very busy.  She also enjoys unwinding at the end of a hectic day with a glass of red wine.  Alison counts down the days to Fiesta season all year long and loves to cheer on the Spurs.  She loves her residents and teammates so much that she plans to stay at the Villa until she retires, when she will promptly move herself in!

Jennifer Hughes, RN

jhughes@northstarSL.com

Jennifer Hughes was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She has served as a nurse for over a decade learning different specialties such as medical/surgical, critical care, case management, assisted living, and recently hospice. Jennifer held the position of Resident Care Coordinator at Villa de San Antonio from 2016-2017, but left to further her education and spend some time with family. Jennifer was ecstatic for the opportunity return to the Villa and serve as the Resident Care Director in June of 2024. She enjoys assisted living because she loves getting to know the residents and families as well as making their home life here at the Villa comfortable, safe, and a positive experience.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband Patrick and their three kids; Evan, Julia, and Jocelyn. They love barbequing in the backyard and swimming on the many hot days San Antonio has to offer. She is a dog lover, enjoys watching documentaries, loves decorating her home, cooking, baking (especially during the holidays), and trying new restaurants around San Antonio.

Dining Services Director

John Zachary

jzachary@northstarSL.com

As a dedicated professional chef with over 25 years of experience in the senior living sector, I have a passion for creating gracious and nutritious meals that cater to the unique needs of seniors. I graduated from the Texas Culinary Academy in Austin, Texas, and have served as an Executive Chef and as a Regional Executive Chef, bringing culinary excellence to communities across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. I have been blessed being the Dining Services Director here at Villa de San Antonio since 2013 and have an excellent team that provides exemplary service for our residents and staff.

Outside of the kitchen, I am happily married to my wife, who is an elementary school principal in Wimberley, Texas. Together, we are raising two active boys who keep us on our toes with year-round sports. I enjoy spending time outdoors and have taken up learning the guitar, which adds a creative touch to my life.

Cooking for friends and family is one of my greatest joys, and I take pride in sharing my passion for food. In addition to my culinary pursuits, I am an avid collector of bourbon and cigars, which reflects my appreciation for fine flavors and experiences. I find immense fulfillment in serving the senior community, providing them with a diverse array of cuisines that celebrate both taste and nutrition.

Activities Director

Rick Mora

rmora@northstarSL.com

Rick Mora is a born and bred native of San Antonio, Tx. He began his career in 2005 working in the non-profit sector, creating programs for at risk youth and the underserved seniors of the city. Rick came to work at Villa de San Antonio in 2011. He   serves as not only the Activities Director, but also oversees the transportation dept. as well as Villa de San Antonio’s robust Chapel Services Program. In January 2021, Rick married his longtime girlfriend, Danika. Together they are the proud parents of two beautiful children Molly and Miles.

Rick loves his job and the team that works with him. He firmly believes they have an opportunity to affect the lives of residents on a daily basis for the better. The team believes in the motto “Playing with a Purpose,” which guides them in creating fun, but meaningful and purposeful activities. He is excited for his team to grow and for the future of Villa de San Antonio.

Environmental Service Director

Dale Barnett

dbarnett@northstarSL.com

Dale Barnett is a United States Army veteran, with 101st air assault, who served in combat in Desert Storm. He is father to three boys, Aaron, Ryan and Logan. He is so proud that his oldest two have followed in his footsteps and are currently serving in the military as well.

Dale joined the team at Villa de San Antonio in 2018 as the Environmental service director, leading the team of maintenance technicians and housekeepers.  His favorite part of the job is being able to come up with creative solutions and new ways to help the residents.  Dale says that this large and interesting community that he takes care of means that he is never bored as no two days are the same.

When Dale is not at work, he enjoys riding his Harley, camping with his RV buddies, and snow-mobiling any time he can get out of Texas and find some snow. The past time that keeps him the busiest is his love of BBQing, which the residents at the Villa love as well because they often get to sample his delicious food.

Business Office Manager

Sasha Gaitan

sgaitan@northstarSL.com

Sasha Gaitan was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She went to spread her academic wings after high school, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which makes her a proud Badger alumna, but not to be confused as a Wisconsin cheese head. She worked for the State of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI for a good stretch.

Sasha always knew her home state of Texas would be there when she was ready to return. She came back home and although she had a slew of careers, the Villa de San Antonio community kept calling her back to work. She started in 2013 as a part-time concierge, then was offered a full-time position. She took a two-year hiatus from the community, only to be called back again, but this time in the position of Business Office Administration. She is happy to say that Villa de San Antonio is her indefinite career choice, as it just feels like home.

She lives with two cats, Mandy, a beautiful retired show cat with a diva attitude to match and Tabitha her humble calico, who will love you more than Mandy.
